Our Story

From humble beginnings to a regional celebration

Founded to celebrate the harvest season and agricultural traditions that define Stevens County, Prairie Harvest Fest has grown into a beloved annual tradition that attracts thousands of visitors from across Minnesota and beyond.

2022 - Festival Founded

Local business owner Dan Dripps announced that Heartland Motor Company would be organizing and sponsoring a new festival to follow what was previously Prairie Pioneer Days. With community feedback, the event was renamed Prairie Harvest Fest – A Celebration of Morris to highlight Stevens County's agricultural heritage and bring the community together.

2023 - 501c3 Achieved

Heartland Motor Company passed this event off to a group of volunteers who formed Prairie Harvest Fest, Inc., a MN 501c3 Non-Profit organization. The board has grown, and committees are busy making sure this festival is the best in the area and showcases Morris as a destination community, full of diverse culture and the best people in rural Minnesota.

2024 - Growing Impact

People of all ages from all over MN and the Dakotas join us each Festival that features local vendors, one of the largest car shows in the area, and family activities at the Stevens County Fairgrounds.

2025 - Looking Forward

Celebrating our 4th anniversary with enhanced programming, new partnerships, and continued committment to community celebration and agricultural heritage. Join us at Prairie Harvest Fest during the last weekend in September each year!
